The battle of Malemort took place on April the 21st, 1177. An Army led by the limousins Lords fight Mercenaries troops who were likely for Duke of Aquitaine, Richard the Lion Hearted.
The confrontation is part of the course of the revolt of the limousins lords against their lords Richard Duke between 1176 and 1177.
But if the battle of Malemort marked the memory of the contemporaries, is primarily due to the bloody defeat of the mercenaries face the Limousins, but also because this fight was one of the few victories for the rebels....

Le Grenier de la Mémoire and l'Ost de Montjoie with the Old Oak Park present the first battle reenactment for the XIIth century.
This event will take place between august, the 15th to the 17th, 2008, near Montvalent in the Dordogne valley (20 miles from Sarlat).
